Courmayeur: a splendid and prestigious town of the rich and famous situated at the foot of the Mont blanc which has always been known as “The pearl of the Alps”.
The ski area of Checrouit-Val Veny has 96 km of piste of which 19 have snow cannons, split between the 2 cable cars, one leaving from Val Veny going up to Pre di Pascal at 1525 m and the other leaving from the main part of Courmayeur going up to Checrouit at 1706 m, more recently they have built a bubble car which goes from Dolonne up to Checrouit, from here you can go on up to Cresta D'Arp at 2763 m. Thanks to the Mont Blanc cable car set in the village of Palud we also have the chance to do the Valley Blanche a descent of 24 km in the most amazing scenery of the glacier leading down to the French resort of Chamonix and returning via the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy.
Not forgetting also the cross country skiing in Val Ferret where at least 30 km of prepared area is on offer.
With a vast range of options on offer in the way of hotels, bed and breakfasts and restaurants.
After a little shopping in the quaint pedestrian area with the boutique style shops, you can relax in one of the welcoming bars for your pre-dinner drinks.
